ANGOLA KFC closed 2021 with 9 opera- tional restaurants. Angola’s macroeconomic context continued to condition business growth, due to losses in purchas- ing power, aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic that was de- clared in March 2020, leading to severe restrictions on the restau- rant activity, due to the system- atic extensions of the State of Ca- lamity declared by the Angolan Government, which led to partial or total closures of restaurants for large periods of time. Despite the rise in the delivery and drive thru segments, the counter segment registered very significant losses. With a view to helping overcome our consumers’ difficulties, we redesigned some of the brand’s value offers, creating new prod- uct offers and specialised men- us with very competitive prices (menu Bucket p/1; Wednesday promos/ crazy Fridays/Much for Little campaign). 112
