Opening of several KFC; Pizza Hut, Pans & Company and Burger King units
In a difficult economical context, characterized by a persistent decrease in consumption, the Group is yet able to keep a unique dynamics and increase de sales, both in Portugal and in Spain.
KFC keeps its market share and opens new units, as did the brands Pizza Hut, Pans & Company, and Burger King. In this context, we should point out the continuation of the investment on the market of the Autonomous Regions, with five openings. In Spain, sales kept rising, as did the expansion of the Pasta Caffé restaurants.
A year that was marked by growth, both in Portugal and in Spain.
New Pizza Hut, Pans & Company, Burger King and Pasta Caffé units were opened, and the Group started in this year the expansion process towards the interior.
The Group grows at a double-digit rate, registering strong improvement of the brands Pizza Hut, Pans & Company and Burger King.
In Spain, the growth is supported by the performance of the brand Pizza Móvil and by the expansion of the Pasta Caffé restaurants
In 2003, the Ibersol Group operated 303 units, of which 265 were own brands and 38 were franchising. Of this universe, 69 were based in Spain: 40 own brands and 29 franchised brands.
Opening of the first Bocatta at Norteshopping and Colombo Shopping Centre
The Ibersol Group has acquired, in 2012, most of the share capital of Vidisco, which operated in Spain 55 businesses under the name Pizza Móvil, and also acquired 60% of the share capital of the company Restmon Portugal, which owns the franchising rights for the Portuguese territory of the brand Cantina Mariachi, owned by the group Restmon Espanha. By the end of the year, the Ibersol Group operated 257 units belonging to the different concepts, of which 228 are own brands and 29 are franchised brands. Of this universe, 59 are based in Spain: 40 own brands and 19 franchised brands.
The sales of the Group totalled 125 million Euros, giving work to 3,800 employees in Portugal and nearly 900 in Spain.
Opening of the first Burger King at Norteshopping
At the end of 2001, the Ibersol Group registered a total turnover of 96.7 million Euros and operated in 162 units belonging to the different concepts.
At the same time, the number of employees increased proportionally, and reached this year approx. 3,400 employees, what made the Group one of the most important employers of the country. For Ibersol, Quality is an essential requirement for its operation and success, and it is the distinguishing factor of the Group. Having this in mind, Ibersol has set up its own Quality System, identifying and systematizing the most important processes of its business, and assigning the corresponding responsibilities, with the purpose of getting a more effective management of the horizontal work flows.
